Sainbury’s join the price war!

Typical. Just a week after my post on Sainsbury’s new strapline, where I said:

They’re not starting a price war, they’re stepping back and saying ‘Okay, we’re not the cheapest – but we’ll give you the best quality for the lowest price.’

They go and enter the price war with their Brand Match promotion. Luckily for me, it’s on brand names and we expect them to be high quality. So I’m going to dig my heels in and say that they’re still saying ‘we’ll give you the best quality for the lowest price.’
